Partnerships built on years of trust.
We’re all in this together. Human trafficking cannot be tackled by a single organization alone. ACT Alberta champions collaboration, engages in knowledge-sharing collectives, and partners with individuals and agencies across the province to enhance program delivery and client care.
Working together for human rights
Trafficking is an highly complex crime with unique challenges for victims. Effective responses require coordinated services, systemic changes, and strong partnerships. We support our partners' goals, leverage each other’s strengths, and embrace diverse perspectives and expertise.
Meet our Partners
ACT fosters community-based responses to trafficking through strong partnerships, open communication, and resource and knowledge sharing.
Victim Services Partnerships
ACT is a community-based Victim Services Unit (VSU) that assists victims and survivors of human trafficking through partnerships with the RCMP, municipal police services, and other community organizations. Our team of accredited social workers (RSW, BSW) offers specialized case management to help clients safely escape their abusers and find their path to safety. We also connect clients with additional specialized services, such as housing, trauma counseling, and legal support, to ensure comprehensive care.

“ACT Alberta is the recognized authority on identifying and directly supporting victims of human trafficking. Their collaboration with RCMP and numerous other stakeholders is vital to the Alberta law enforcement community’s ability to respond to this ongoing crisis.”

Education Partnerships
Human trafficking in Alberta is extensive and diverse. To tackle this issue, our team of educators collaborates with a range of stakeholders, including government and non-governmental agencies, law enforcement, health care providers, transportation hubs, community groups, and individuals. We rely on the expertise of our partners to deliver tailored training grounded in evidence-based practices. This includes working with law enforcement agencies like the RCMP, regulatory bodies such as the Temporary Foreign Workers Advisory Office, and other non-profit organizations involved in addressing human trafficking.

“At Edmonton International Airport (YEG), safety and security are always our top priorities. We are proud to partner with ACT Alberta and the RCMP to provide human trafficking prevention training at our airport.
We have worked collaboratively to train more than 1,800 front-line employees inside the airport to identify and report suspected human trafficking. We are dedicated to ensuring we continue to be part of the solution by assisting and facilitating all initiatives to eliminate human trafficking at our airport.”
